Situated just outside of Port Campbell, Victoria, the farmgate/stay build was crafted out of necessity. Greg and Jodi Clarke, from Great Ocean Ducks, came to us with a proposal to construct a dual-purpose building. The main module was designed for either short or long term accommodation, while the secondary space would display the free-range duck products from their business. This project immediately sparked our interest.
The structure would be composed of three modules, with two pre-built at our location in Ballarat, Victoria. The central unit and four decks constructed onsite to merge everything seamlessly.
Greg and Jodi were ideal clients, offering our team considerable creative leeway throughout the process. Features such as handcrafted concrete benchtops and raked ceilings were incorporated to maintain the farmhouse aesthetic. During the delivery of the modules, we had to remove the original fence for access. We saw this as an opportunity to integrate the farm’s legacy, crafting a set of barn doors and timber feature wall from the reclaimed wood. We’re thrilled with the outcome of the project and confident that the Clarke family will cherish if for years to come.
